Wetumpka Elementary School
I have been teaching Kindergarten at Wetumpka Elementary School for twelve years.
This will be my thirteenth year at W.E.S.

My name is Carmelita (Carmen) Jones.  I have been teaching Kindergarten at Wetumpka Elementary School for eleven years.  I will have my first group of Kindergarten students to graduate from Wetumpka High School this year! Oh my, they're getting old!

I am from West Point, Ga and graduated in 1992 from Troup County Comprehensive High School in LaGrange, Ga.  After high school, I attended Southern Union Community College and earned an Assosciate of Science degree.  I then furthered my education at Alabama State University obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education (2005) and a Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education (2008).  I just obtained my Masters in School Counseling from Alabama State University in 2015.

I am married to Sam and have two great kids, Destinee and Trey.  They keep us very busy with all their extra curricular activities.  However, we would not trade it for anything in this world! Destinee is a Junior at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and plays softball for the Lady Bisons.  Trey is a Junior at Wetumpka High School, he plays football and baseball.

In my spare time, I like to read, shop, travel, and spend time with family and friends.

I'm also a foodie (I love chocolate & Starbucks) and exercise to stay healthy.

I am also a proud 'T T' to my nieces (Lauren & Tori)and nephews (Chip & PJ).
