    • I have also attended several professional workshops including ARI, TEAM Math, and Technology in Motion. My fellow faculty members and previous students have also taught me a lot. Education is ongoing. My mom says, “If you don’t know ask.” My answer to that is, if you do know listen anyway. I have learned that there is more than one way to do almost everything.

  •  1st year as a 4th grade teacher (Math, Science, Alabama History)

  • 10 years in the Elmore County School System at Wetumpka Elementary           (3rd Grade)

  • Prior to entering the workforce I interned in the 1st and 5th grades in the Montgomery County School System.

  • I also interned with the 3-5 year olds at the Child Development Center at Maxwell Air Force Base. Education and experience, two for the price of one.

As you know my name is Natasha Davis, and I currently teach 4th grade math, science, and Alabama history at Wetumpka Elementary School. I also taught 3rd grade for 10 years at WES. What you don’t know is that I was born and raised in Dallas County. I was educated by the Dallas County School System until I graduated in 2000 from Southside High School. I attended Wallace Community College (WCCS), Concordia College, and Auburn University in Montgomery (AUM) where I received an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts, a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. I am currently working on my Ed. Specialist degree at Auburn University in Auburn (AU).

In August of 2004, after graduating cum laude from AUM, I became a 3rd grade teacher with the Elmore County School System. After a year of spending about 3 hours a day on the road traveling from Dallas to Elmore County, I decided to move closer to my job in June of 2005. I guess you are wondering what took me so long, the answer in one word family.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, movies, sports, and traveling. My favorite authors are Patricia Polacco and Cassie Edwards. My favorite subject is math, even though I enjoy reading. Two of my favorite movies are “Jane Eyre” and “On the Waterfront”. Jane Eyre is a movie based on the book Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. On the Waterfront is a 1954, black and white movie starring Marlon Brando. I enjoy watching basketball, football, wrestling, and baseball. My favorite place to visit is (home/the beach/Bahamas). What more can I say?
